As its “Move to Zero” campaign’s 2030 benchmark gradually approaches, NIKE, Inc. has been outfitted some of its most beloved silhouettes in arrangements utilizing eco-friendly, upcycled materials. The latest proposition emerges in the form of a Nike Blazer Mid ’77 clad in an understated colorway.
Like some of its most readily-available iterations, the forthcoming mid-top Blazer features an upper predominantly constructed from leather. Reinforcement at the toe top and lateral forefoot, however, indulge in not only a contrasting suede material, but also a “Smoke Grey” tone. Stitching on the profile panel further deviate from the pair’s muted palette with its “Electric Green” makeup, which also animates the medial sides and branding on the tongue. Yet, the newly-surfaced option’s most notable detail is the exposed material underneath the lateral swoosh that resembles the debris one may find when clearing out a vacuum. Underfoot, sole units forgo any eye-catching or sustainable accents in favor of a tried-and-proven white composition.
