When word of a “Tokyo” Air Jordan 3 surfaced at the start of the year, no one thought that we’d be seeing a return of an Original 1988 colorway. But it appears that the pair will be a retro of the OG Air Jordan 3 “Fire Red” — with a translucent twist. In fact, there are actually two pairs of Fire Reds on the way.
Much like we saw for All-Star Weekend’s “Red Cement” release, you can expect two separate releases — likely to be another shout-out to the respective host city, in this case, Tokyo for the originally-scheduled Summer Games. One pair, the “SE”, is expected to arrive in the OG’s original make and will feature Nike Air branding in the rear — but here the twist: The OG branding is only visible through the heel’s fully-translucent Jumpman-branded heel tab. Weird, right? Right.
